Spring Break

Normal 20 year olds do something exciting on their spring break like going to the beach with all of their friends.
I however did not have that luxury this year. Two of my best friends/roommates were out of the country studying abroad while i was stuck in white house alone. So i decided to call up my best friend Shelby for a fun, week long, spring break craft. Since she was on Spring Break also but had to work it worked out just fine!! She works from 6am-8am and 1:30pm-6pm so basically every hour she was free, she was with me. she pretty much became a resident of the Denton household for a week.

before...

Day 1 didnt start out the way we wanted it to. Day 1 was actually extremely bad. My boy and i spray painted the coolers while Shelby was at work. Turns out, even when the spray paint can says yoou dont have to sand the plastic down before painting it, you still need to sand it...otherwise the paint chips right off. i was too horrified of this event to take a picture of it so here it is after we sanded and painted it again. Day one consisted of striping every chip of paint off. So heres day two, after we painted it...again.

side one, i wanted to be my monogram from the start. heres the border.

beauty in the simple things.

heres work in progress on side one. which i just adore. the stripes are for victorias secret cause i love that store and the bow because i love bows.

heres work in progress side number two. Also day 3. The southern belle secret is because im from and love the south. plus i always have a koozie on me. it says "Southern belle secret #42: always keep a koozie in your purse,car/truck, or kitchen. The middle is...Sound it out loud. Te-Bow. Tebow! My favorite player, obviously. Moving down to my favorite teams, NFL Tennessee Titans and NCAA Florida Gators.

heres work in progress side 3 or the back. This was day 4 of spring break and its finally starting to c ome along nicely. To the left we have the princess half. Need i explain? To the right theres Sex and the City and Cupcakes. Two of my favorite things.

Work in progress side number 4, the last side. This side is a random side of everything that needed to be on there and wasn't yet. it was hard to incorporate everything but fun like a puzzle at the same time. except for i hate puzzles...
Wanna see the final results???

side two!

side three!

and side four!
Wondering how we got everything to look so precise and perfect? I found a trasfer method using newspaper. You print off the image you want, cut it out, put a clip from a dark newspaper page underneath it on the cooler and trace hard with a pencil. When you remove them both, the image will be there for you to trace! Also, paint pens were a dreammmmmm.

this is shelby front and side!!

i was very very happy with the way both of ours turned out! she isnt very creative so it was totally out of her comfort zone. bless her heart she did so good!! We had so much fun. lots of much needed girl time. plus whats better than spending spring break with your best friend jammin, paintin, and attempting to win Luke Bryan tickets?

What did you guys do over spring break? bet you cant beat mine :)
